At the Kunlun

So, today is Saturday, August 16 and I've been at the Hotel Kunlun for the past 16 days. This is the hotel that I'm working out of...it is in the Chaoyang District, right off of the 3rd Ring Road. Most guests stay at this hotel and this is where the main operations center is located. I don't live here though - I live across the street at the Kempinski Hotel. I think the Kempinski is a German-owned hotel chain, and actually it's pretty cool, as that is where the German House is. So, German athletes, and other VIP's occasionally come to the Kempinski. Of course, I work all of the time, so I really don't see them. Last night, when I came back to the hotel, I saw the red carpet laid out, all blocked off from anyone entering, unless of course, they were a VIP. Needless to say, I was not allowed entrance and strolled in the hotel on the marble instead.
